VARICOSE VEINS STAGE DOWN BEFORE SURGERY

Background: For many people, varicose veins and spider are simply a cosmetic concern. other can cause aching pain discomfort. Sometimes lead to more-serious problems. Objective: To evaluate the effect of staging down lower limb by injection sclerotherapy before surgical treatment in comparison with standard procedure. Patients Methods: Included 40 patients, aged 25–42 years (Range), who were recruited from outpatient clinic Department Vascular Surgery, Al-Hussein University Hospital. All patients followed up monthly for 6 months. The duration study had been 12 months July 2018 2019. divided into 2 groups: group I: In this treated stage surgery control group: This was an age sex matched first group. clinical hemodynamic assessments carried on. Duplex ultrasound done at end follow period detect degree improvement. Results: Mean 3.0 ±0.2 range (1.5-5) years. Varicose distributed leg 50% I 70% II. Median baseline anatomical extent 5 II respectively 4-9. As regard symptoms, present 5% cases,, heaviness 5%, itching 10% cases, concerns swelling 0% cases. Regarding post intervention complications, 15% bruising discoloration 0%, pigmentation two groups regarding patient satisfaction score, 40% cases highly satisfied one, compared 25% There high significant improvement over period. Conclusion: Sclerotherapy provided symptomatic relief improvements diagnosed uncomplicated veins.
